Active 20-30 Sebastopol #63

One never stands so tall as when kneeling to help a child.

Giving children the confidence to start the school year off right!

Each year across the nation children start or return to school, many of these children do so with no school supplies, old clothes and a sense of not fitting in.

Active 20-30's national project is a back to school shopping event to help underprivileged children start the school year off with the tools necessary for success. Some Active 20-30 Clubs provide a shopping event around the holidays, ensuring these children have a present to open on Christmas and proper clothing for the season.

Each child had Active 20-30 personal shopper with $150 to spend on new jeans, t-shirts, sweatshirts, shoes, underwear, socks, a winter jacket, belts, hats, and everything else you could possibly think of to outfit a child for the start of school. With early bird specials, clearance racks and an additional 15% off at the cash register at Kohl's in Petaluma were able to provide these children with an ample amount of quality clothing that will last them throughout the school year.

When shopping was done each child had an opportunity to get their hair cut by a local, volunteer hair stylist as well as a brand new back pack full of supplies including crayons, colored markers, paper, pencils, erasers, rulers, tape, binders, and more! Once the children are outfitted and ready to begin the school year they will enjoy a phenomenal breakfast spread of sausage, potatoes, scrambled eggs and blintzes donated by Sally Tomaotes with their family and new Active 20-30 friends!

You are invited to help us help the children by supporting this event by making a donation or sponsoring a spree .The children will be from West County, Rohnert Park & Petaluma. Each club will be in contact with local organizations who can provide us with the children who need the most help.
